Carmichael, 2009, Type information as given in the original publication. There is no type information given in the paper, other than it was found in the Vogesen mountains near Ottrott, which at the time as a part of Germany, but now is a part of France, and that it was found on Quercus sp, in the Quercus rober group.. Borner mentions that this species might be a synonymy of Phylloxera punctata.
