There is no mention of how many specimens were looked at, or if he retained any of the type specimens, since it is noted that the descriptions, including the microscopic view, were based on living specimens. There is no mention of a depository. The host is Caryae amara (bitter-nut hickory), the collection date is June 17th, by H. Shimer, from Mount Carrol, Illinois
