Daktulosphaira
Scrutiny:
Favret, 2016, Westwood first mentioned the name at a meeting of the Ashmolean society, thinking the name would be published in the proceedings (Westwood 1877). Lichtenstein (1878), thinking the name had been published, accepted that Peritymbia would have precedence over his Rhizaphis (Planchon 1868). In fact, the Ashmolean Society only published the fact of Westwood's speech and not its content (Westwood 1867). Westwood later names the species Peritymbia vitisana (1869a) and describes it further (1869b).
Type species:
Peritymbia vitisana
Westwood (=
Daktulosphaira vitifoliae
), by original monotypy
