  • Favret, 2012, Sugimoto (2011) suggested that Parachaitophorus belongs in Drepanosiphinae: Baltichaitophorini, based on the features of the ovipara. This would make Parachaitophorinae a junior subjective synonym of Baltichaitophorinae, currently considered an extinct taxon.
• Type genus:  Parachaitophorus Takahashi, R., 1937; priority for family-group names based on Parachaitophorus dates from Parachaitophorinae Quednau & G. Remaudière, 1994.  First use as Parachaitophorinae by Quednau & G. Remaudière, 1994.
